Meet Gena Littleton, CPA
Gena Littleton is the founder and owner of Bluebird Accounting & Tax, Inc. in Carlsbad, California. With 35 years of accounting experience—including 20 years in public accounting and tax and 15 years in private industry—Gena brings a unique perspective to helping small business owners succeed.
Her accounting career began at age 15, keeping the books for her aunt and uncle's carpet business. A graduate of UC Davis, Gena went on to gain extensive hands-on experience across a wide range of industries, including construction, equipment rental, agriculture, private equity, grocery, financial services, manufacturing, and government. She has spent the past 17 years building Bluebird around a simple philosophy: business owners deserve more than a CPA who only looks at their numbers at tax time.
Having worked on both sides of the accounting relationship, Gena understands the value of truly knowing a business. By combining ongoing bookkeeping with proactive tax planning and personalized CPA guidance, she helps business owners make informed decisions throughout the year—not just after the year is over.
Gena lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Geoff, and their two children, Cole and Brin. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and cheering on the Padres.

We believe the best client relationships are proactive, not reactive. That's why we regularly reach out to discuss tax planning, projections, upcoming payments, and important financial decisions throughout the year.
We also intentionally keep our client list small — it's the only way to actually deliver on that. Real-time bookkeeping, quarterly projections, and a CPA who's genuinely available, not buried behind a receptionist telling you she's unavailable.
